106 handsfree microphone failure

Hi, I've got a 2002 Peugeot 106 diesel with a weird issue. The hands-free microphone seems dead. Telephony is completely impossible and there's an error stored in the memory. I'm thinking it's the infotainment system itself, anyone else had this?

I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane. The Bluetooth module went haywire, killing the audio input. Ambient noise was through the roof, and volume control did nothing. Is your Peugeot showing any other audio-related issues?

Thanks for the info! Turns out it was indeed the infotainment system. Cost me 815€ to get it sorted, but at least the hands-free is working again.
