Heya I totally feel your pain. My 2010 Croma had almost exact issues not too long ago. Turned out to be a grungy fuel pump, just like you suspected. Once the guys at the workshop had given it a thorough cleaning and replaced a few worn-out parts, she started behaving just fine. Still,'s point about a software glitch is pretty interesting. Had no clue that could mess up the ride like that. Anyways I hope you get your car sorted soon, fingers crossed it's nothing too major. By the way,, what did you end up shelling out for the software calibration, if you don't mind me asking? And any further glitches pop up related to that since then? Peace.
Hey, totally understand your curiosity. After visiting my garage guy, the software Glitcharoo was sorted. Would you believe the fuel pump itself was in tip-top shape? Just some incorrect parameters in software land. Guess that's modern cars for you, huh? It cost me just 45 smackers, not too shabby at all. No further problems so far (touchwood!) since the tweak. Since then, my brave Bravo's like a young lad again, raring to roam the roads. Be sure to tell your guy to take a gander at both - the fuel pump and the software - if ever such symptoms pop up again. Hope it's as quick and cost-effective for you, too. Stay safe out there. Cheers.
Hey. Really appreciate you chaps for taking the time to answer. It's comforting to hear that you've both dealt with similar troubles. Never considered a software glitch could cause my Croma to throw a tantrum,. That's a total chin-stroker. I'll definitely get it checked along with the fuel pump - great shout! And, cheers for reassuring me that it could just be the fuel pump needing a bit of a spruce. Here's hoping it's nothing more serious, and my wallet doesn't have to take a big hit. You guys have eased my nerves a fair bit - glad there's a way forward. I'll update you as soon as I've got some news from the mechanic. Fingers crossed, it'll be sorted without much fuss or financial heartache. Take care, guys. Thanks a ton!
Hey there, I can absolutely relate to your situation. I've got an '07 Fiat Bravo, rather similar to your Croma. Almost identical symptoms - rough acceleration, check engine light on, even had some starting issues, though luckily never left me stranded. It turned out my problem wasn't mechanical, but a software issue. My mechanic told me that the software values for my fuel pump were off, causing inefficient fuel supply to the engine. Like, the software was telling the fuel pump to do one thing, but it needed to do something else. It does sound serious to hear "software issue," but it wasn't as dire as it sounds. Just needed a good tweak on the software values by the garage lads with their tech tools, which corrected the signals being sent to the fuel pump, and bam, she was good as new. So, you might not be too far off with your fuel pump suspicion, especially since your car is a bit similar to mine. Find yourself a trustworthy mechanic who can check not only your fuel pump but also the software. It just might be a case of miscommunication between the pump and the ECU. Good luck with your lady. Let us know how you get on. Cheers.
