Hey there, I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Sounds like quite an ordeal you went through with your Lexus IS F - makes me both anxious and prepared for what's to come, you know? Just remembered, I didn't ask before - do you recall offhand how much the repair set you back? Also, did you experience any other related issues afterward or was the cable replacement the definitive solution to your woes? Thanks for any more info you can provide!
Hello there, Ah, you're hitting me with the financials now, huh? Well, the repair to sort out that pesky cable connection wasn't exactly pocket change. Cost me about 165€, it did. They had to mend the cable connection between the control unit and the display, which was the culprit behind all that audio system mess. Once the mechanic got his hands on it though, everything started working smooth as silk. The audio system started behaving, so no more silent road-trips for me, thank god! It's been a while since then and I haven't had any similar or related issues crop up. Hope this helps, all the best getting your Lexus sorted. Cheers!
Oh, you’ve given me a good idea of what to expect now - both the process and the dent in my wallet! I’m hoping for the “smooth as silk” part too when it’s done. Hats off to your mechanic for getting it all sorted. Getting this issue fixed is quite crucial for me and your experience reassured me a lot. Thanks a million for the info and well wishes. Hope your Lexus keeps running trouble-free for many more miles. Cheers!
Hey! Had a similar thing happen with my 2013 Lexus IS F last year. Absolute mess it was - the screen went dark, couldn't get any radio songs for a good road trip, you know what I mean. Turned out it was a faulty cable connection between the control unit and the display. Not to scare you or anything, but it was a fairly serious issue. The problem wasn't the cable itself per se, but the connection points had become worn out over time. My mechanic had to spend a good deal of time tracing the whole pathway to figure out where the snag was. Ended up having to replace the entire cable, the points of connection to the control unit and to the display. It wasn't a one-day job, I'll tell you that. But since yours is a hybrid, it might even be a bit more complicated. Just something you might need to prepare for. Hope this gives you something to go on. Good luck!
