2019 Hyundai Eon Transmission Issues: Slipping, Grinding, and Whining Noises

Hey guys, got a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2019 Hyundai Eon. It's a Gasoline model which recently started acting up big time. The transmission's been slipping and shifting in a real quirky manner, makes a grinding sound when I change gears, and there's a weird whining noise too. I've been thinking it could be an issue with the transmission oil pressure, but not quite sure. Anyone else faced a similar problem and got it sorted out in a workshop? Could use some advice on this. Cheers!

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Hyundai Eon is experiencing transmission issues, including slipping, grinding, and whining noises. The suspected cause is low transmission oil pressure, possibly due to low oil levels. It is advised to have the vehicle checked by a mechanic promptly to prevent further damage, with hopes for a straightforward and affordable solution.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there! I had a super similar issue with my 2017 Hyundai Accent, practically same model family, right? Now, I'm no expert, got some experience with cars, but mostly learned through trial and error. Anyway, about my Accent, I noticed strange noises and weird gear changes too. Took it to my local workshop for a check. They found the transmission oil level was way too low. Not a cheap fix either, cost around 365 Euro. Sounds like your Eon might have a similar problem. Can you share a bit more info about your vehicle? Like mileage, any previous transmission work etc., - it'll help in giving you a better suggestion. Hope this helps a bit, let us know how it goes!

Interesting to know you had a similar issue with the Accent. My Eon has clocked up 26631 KM, but thankfully no major transmission work done as of yet. Only regular maintenance services performed. Didn't even face any problem prior to this. Not cool that it could be an expensive fix though. Appreciate your insight, will definitely get my mechanic to take a look. Fingers crossed! Cheers!

Hey! Yep, sure sounds like it could be an oil issue. Even with regular servicing, sometimes things just go awry. Can't put a finger on why, but it just happens. In my case, the oil issue crept up around the 30,000 KM mark, so you're pretty close to that yourself. I suggest not waiting and getting your Eon to the mechanic soonest. You might be able to limit the damage if the problem is caught early. But let's hope it's an easy (and cheap) fix, eh? These unexpected costs are always a right pain in the behind! Good luck and do keep us posted. Cheers!

Absolutely agreed. Earlier the better. I’ll get it over to the workshop first thing tomorrow. Now you got me keeping my fingers crossed for a cheap fix! I'll make sure to update here once I know more. Cheers for the advice, much appreciated!
