A/C Compressor Issues with 2023 Renault Arkana

Hey folks! I'm banging my head over my 2023 Renault Arkana, Gasoline, clocked around 23,294 kms, and the A/C started blowing warm air, so much for cool drives! I'm guessing it's got something to do with the A/C compressor switching off? Gotta say, wasn't thrilled about my last visit to the mechanic (long story) so thought I'd check here first. Anyone out there faced similar gremlins? How'd it go down at your mechanic's? Looking forward to your two cents on this! Cheers!

Summary of the thread

The 2023 Renault Arkana is experiencing issues with the A/C blowing warm air, suspected to be due to the A/C compressor switching off. A similar problem in a 2020 Renault Megane was caused by a failure in the A/C compressor clutch, which is responsible for engaging the compressor. The suggested solution is to replace the faulty A/C compressor clutch, which resolved the issue in the Megane, restoring proper cooling. The user is advised to consider this repair for the Arkana to potentially resolve the problem.

Hey there! Had somewhat of a similar issue with my 2020 Renault Megane, only at 27K kms. Turned out my A/C had stopped because of a failure in the A/C compressor clutch - which pretty much does the switching on and off job for the compressor you're talking about. It had to turn constantly to keep the compressor working properly and cool stuff down, but it just didn't. So, the compressor was basically idle, which has led the A/C to blow warm air. So, when I went to the garage, they basically just had to replace that faulty A/C compressor clutch. Wasn't exactly a walk in the park, but also was a pretty much straightforward job once they knew what the culprit was. Reckon you ought to check into that for your Arkana. Safe fixing!

Hey, cheers for your detailed response! Your Megane troubles sound eerily similar to what my Arkana is throwing at me. Looks like I might be headed down the same A/C compressor clutch replacement path. Just curious, do you remember the damage it did to your wallet for that fix? Also, has anything else cropped up since then or was it all chill afterwards? Trying to make sure if I'm in for more surprises! Thanks again.

Hey! Glad to be of help. So, for the A/C compressor clutch issue I mentioned, had me cough up about 625€. Worth every penny, if you ask me, since it turned my driving experience from a sauna back to an Arctic breeze. And ever since that fix, it's been all smooth sailing - no more warm gusts and unexpected sweat baths, heh. Since you're probably on the same boat with your Arkana, brace yourself for the cost. But yeah, once they fixed the compressor switch-off issue, it was back to normal. No more nasty surprises. Hope it's the same for you. Keep us updated!

Absolutely top-notch! Can't thank you enough for sharing your experience and the price tag with me, much appreciated. Gotta say, easing off from a sauna to an Arctic breeze sounds just about worth the 625€ to me. Besides, no repeat performances of the A/C tic seems a fair play. Looks like my Arkana and I are headed to the mechanics then! Will brace myself for the hit, but hey, all in the name of cool drives, right? Will definitely update once it's sorted! Thanks a ton again, and fingers crossed, hope no more unpleasant surprises await! Cheers!
