Adam high fuel consumption starting issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Vauxhall Adam with 25,000 km is experiencing high fuel consumption and starting issues. The initial suspicion was a throttle valve problem, but it was later identified as a defective accelerator pedal module. Cleaning the throttle valve was considered but not recommended as a solution. The issue was resolved by replacing the accelerator pedal module.

Interesting! So, it wasn't the throttle valve itself? Was the Renault throwing any specific error codes, or was it just guesswork? Did you try throttle cleaning first?

Indeed, it wasn't the valve itself. There were no error codes initially, which made it all the more perplexing. I wouldn't advise attempting throttle cleaning yourself; instead, I suggest consulting a qualified technician for proper diagnosis and repair. That’s what I did in the end.

Thanks for the info! I took it to a workshop and they confirmed it was a defective accelerator pedal module. Ended up costing me 205€, but at least it's sorted. Cheers!

I understand your frustration. I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane, although mine was a diesel. The symptoms sound identical to what I experienced. It turned out to be a faulty accelerator pedal module, which was impacting the throttle control. I hope this helps.
