Hey! So about your questions, the repair job on that blasted cold shut-off valve surprisingly didn’t cost me a penny. Bit of good luck there, huh? Ever since my trusty mechanic gave it a once over and sorted out that pesky Air Conditioning error message, it's been plain sailing with my Sorento. The AC's been frosty cool, just like back in the good old days, and no other issues have popped up so far (*touch wood*). Make sure to get your Sportage seen to ASAP, alright? Hopefully, it’s the same quick fix. Keep me posted on how things turn out. Cheers!
Free of cost repair? Now that's a win! Definitely giving my Sportage a once over and having that cold shut-off valve inspected. Thanks heaps for sharing this. I'm relieved to hear your Sorento has been steady since the fix, hoping for the same luck here. Will keep you posted on how it goes! Catch ya later!
Hey! I had something similar with my 2017 Kia Sorento, just a different model but same brand, so hopefully, it could help. The AC warning was, in my case, related to the cold shut-off valve. My mechanic diagnosed the same, turns out it was defective and causing all the trouble. It was a decently serious issue because it caused poor AC performance that felt like a total no AC situation during peak summer, and also would illuminate the warning light. Also, it threw an error code when plugged into the diagnostic tool. The mechanic had to replace the shut-off valve which did fix the issue. In your case, since the mechanic isn't perfect, I'd suggest you look for a second opinion, and don't forget to let them check the cold shut-off valve. After it was repaired my Sorento’s AC is back to chilling like it always used to. Hope it helps and the issue gets sorted out for you!
