Altima door lock malfunction

My 2010 Nissan Altima with a gasoline engine is acting up. The door contact signal seems faulty; the doors won't lock or unlock automatically. I think it's a bad cable or plug. Has anyone else seen this?

I had a similar issue with my Altima. I believe it's related to the door switch or the wiring harness that controls the automatic locks. Have you checked the door sensor?

Door sensor? Where is that located, and is it easy to get to? I'm wondering if I can fix it myself, or if this is too much for me.

It's a pain to reach. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. Mine was the same, and it was a defective plug connection. Cost me 95€ to get fixed.

Workshop it is. I appreciate the insight - I'll let you know how it goes. It was a faulty cable, just like you said, so you saved me money, as they didn't need to spend hours looking for the issue! Finally got it fixed.
