Power Loss in Citroen C5

Hello, I have a 2003 Citroen C5 with 300,000 kilometers and a gasoline engine. I'm experiencing a problem with engine power loss. Specifically, it loses power as soon as I start and I have to press the gas pedal all the way down to move. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or has any idea what might be wrong?

(Translated from Greek)

Summary of the thread

A 2003 Citroen C5 with 300,000 kilometers is experiencing engine power loss, particularly at low revs, requiring the gas pedal to be fully pressed to move. Initial suggestions included checking the air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs, all of which were found to be in good condition. Further advice was given to inspect and clean the throttle body and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, as issues with these components can affect engine performance, especially at low revs.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Check the air filter first to ensure it's not clogged, as this can restrict airflow and cause power loss. Let me know if this resolves the issue or if you need further assistance.

Good morning. The air filter is new.

Inspect the fuel filter next, as a clogged fuel filter can restrict fuel flow and lead to power loss. If the filter hasn't been replaced recently, it might be worth changing it. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions.

And I've put this in new

Check the spark plugs and ignition system for any signs of wear or damage, as faulty spark plugs can cause power loss. If they haven't been replaced in a while, consider changing them. Let me know if this helps or if you have more questions.

And the spark plugs are new.

Inspect the throttle body for any carbon buildup or dirt, as this can affect engine performance. Cleaning it might help restore power. Please update me on your progress or if you have any other questions.

I have cleaned it and it's okay. It does this to me at low revs; when it works above 2500 revs it works normally.

Check the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor for dirt or malfunction, as it can affect engine performance at low revs. Cleaning or replacing it might help. Let me know if this resolves the issue or if you have further questions.
