Aveo Bumper Antenna Issue

I'm having trouble with what I think is the bumper antenna on my 2011 Chevrolet Aveo with a gasoline engine. The error memory has a fault, the key fob doesn't lock or unlock the car, and I can't start the engine without the key in the ignition. I'm guessing it's a bad cable or plug. Anyone else seen this?

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my 2014 Citroen C4, but the symptoms were a bit different. My keyless entry was intermittent, and the radio signal was weak. It turned out to be a faulty connection in the antenna amplifier. Have you checked the connections to the antenna base? Does your Aveo have an antenna amplifier?

Thanks, I'll check the antenna base connections and look for an amplifier. Where was the amplifier on your C4? How did you figure out it was a faulty connection?

On my C4, the amplifier was near the antenna base, under the headliner. It was hard to diagnose because the connections looked okay at first. But I found corrosion on the connector pins when I looked closer. I didn't fix it myself; I took it to a shop. Given your symptoms, getting a professional diagnosis might be a good idea.

Thanks for the info about your Citroen C4. Based on what you've said, I'm going to take my Aveo to a workshop for a diagnosis and repair. They quoted me about 95€.
