Aveo water sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Chevrolet Aveo owner experienced a check engine light and rough engine running, with a diagnostic scan indicating a water sensor error. The issue was suspected to be related to the sensor or its connections. It was advised to inspect the sensor's cable or plug connection, as testing the sensor itself can be complex. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a defective connector on the sensor, which was resolved by a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply. Testing is complex? What exactly do you mean? What should I do?

By complex, I meant that sensor testing typically requires specialized tools to assess its resistance and signals. Given that you've already visually inspected the sensor, and the symptoms persist, the most sensible course of action would be consulting a trusted workshop. It's likely an electrical fault, which can be pinpointed with appropriate diagnostic equipment.

Ok, thanks for the advice. Turns out it was a defective connector on the sensor as suggested. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Will keep in mind. Thanks again!

A faulty moisture sensor in your Chevrolet Aveo can indeed trigger the check engine light and cause rough engine running, especially with a stored error code. The symptoms you mentioned align with a potential issue in the sensor circuit. However, testing the sensor itself can be complex. Focus on the sensor's cable or plug connection for now as a possible cause.
