Sounds like what I experienced. Rough shifts, and it turned out to be the transfer case. Have you checked the gear oil recently? When was it last changed?

I haven't checked the gear oil, and I'm not sure when it was last changed. I purchased the car recently. Is it possible that defective gears in the transfer case could cause such symptoms? What was your solution?

Yeah, defective gears could be the reason. My transfer case gears were worn, leading to slippage. Get a workshop to inspect it. They should diagnose it precisely. My repair bill was around 330€.

I'll schedule an appointment with a mechanic to have the transfer case inspected. I'll mention defective gears and worn transfer case oil. Thanks!
