Bolt power windows dead after battery replacement
Summary of the thread
After replacing the 12V battery in a 2019 Chevrolet Bolt, the power windows stopped functioning, and an error code indicated a regulator initialization failure. Initial attempts to reset the windows by holding the switch did not resolve the issue. The problem was identified as a deeper programming issue requiring professional intervention, which was resolved by a workshop through a window regulator reset.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yeah, I tried holding the switch. I have tried holding the switch up and down for 10 seconds each time, but it did not work. I even tried disconnecting the battery again, but same problem. Any other ideas before I take it in?

Okay, so you’ve already done the basic reset. Bummer. TBH, when mine acted up like that, the window reset thing didn't work either. Ended up taking it to a shop. It was some kind of deeper programming issue. Probably best to get it checked out before you mess something up worse.

Thanks for the heads-up. Sounds like I'm heading to a workshop then. They said it was the window regulator needing a reset, and they charged 290€. All sorted now!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Bolt (though I can't remember the year now). Power windows just quit. Did you try the window reset procedure? Something about holding the switch up for a few seconds after it hits the top?
