C1 Climate Control Failure

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2020 Citroen C1 (gasoline engine). The automatic climate regulation seems to have stopped working. The air conditioning doesn't switch on anymore, and the error memory has stored a fault. I suspect it might be a faulty interior temperature sensor, perhaps a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Summary of the thread

The 2020 Citroen C1 is experiencing a failure in automatic climate control, with the air conditioning not activating and an error recorded in the system. The suspected cause is a faulty interior temperature sensor or a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the temperature sensor at a workshop, which is recommended as a solution.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

That sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my C1 a while back. It turned out to be a climate regulation issue as well. Does the air blower still work, or is it completely dead? Also, have you noticed any other electrical problems recently?

Thanks for the quick reply! The blower itself seems to be working fine, and I haven't noticed any other electrical issues. Just the climate control being completely unresponsive. Was your issue also related to the temperature sensor, and if so, where exactly was the defective cable/plug located?

In my case, the issue was indeed with the temperature sensor. Given your description and the error in the memory, it's highly likely you're facing the same problem. To be honest, I didn't try to fix it myself. I took it straight to the workshop, and they replaced the sensor. I would suggest you do the same. It cost me around 95€, but at least it fixed the problem once and for all. Be cautious when checking the plug connections, as you can easily damage them.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I suspected it was something along those lines. I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the temperature sensor and its connections. Hopefully, it's a simple fix like yours was. At least I now know what to expect in terms of cost. Appreciate your help!
