C2 Alarm System Error
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Citroen C2 owner experienced a non-functional anti-theft alarm system error, suspecting a coding issue related to the alarm's optical locking feature. The problem arose after a flat battery incident, which likely caused a glitch in the immobilizer system. The suggested solution was to visit a workshop for re-coding, which successfully resolved the issue.

Thanks! I did have a flat battery about a month ago. Could that be the cause of the anti-theft system problem? Should I go to a workshop, or is there an easier fix?

Yes, a flat battery can definitely scramble things. It sounds like the immobilizer might have glitched. I would advise getting it checked at a workshop, they'll likely need to recode something.

Thanks for the advice, a workshop visit fixed it. The system needed re-coding, and it cost 45€. Thanks again for the help!

I also own a C2 and had similar alarm problems. Did this start after a battery issue, or did you notice any other electrical weirdness beforehand?
