C2 engine jerking on acceleration

Got a head-scratcher with my 2005 Citroen C2, gasoline engine. Only 40k kilometers on the clock, but the engine's running rough – uneven, you know? Check engine light's on, and it's throwing some error codes. Biggest issue is this jerking when I try to accelerate. Could a dodgy ignition coil really cause all this?

Oh, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my C2 a while back. Did you check timing belt? Because a damaged timing belt can also cause an uneven engine running.

It might, but from my experience, the jerking during acceleration and stored error codes sounds more like a leak. I would advise you to visit a workshop so they can determine the real cause. Because I think it is not the timing belt, if it was, it would have a different sound.

Thanks, appreciate the advice! Ended up taking it to the workshop, and you were spot on - exhaust leak it was! Cost me 265€ to get fixed. Runs like a dream now! Hopefully that was the last time!
