C2 engine jerking on acceleration
Summary of the thread
The 2005 Citroen C2 was experiencing engine jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on and error codes present. The initial concern was whether a faulty ignition coil could be the cause. However, after further discussion, it was suggested that an exhaust leak might be responsible. Upon taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that an exhaust leak was indeed the issue, and after repair, the car ran smoothly again.

Thanks for the suggestion! But now I am wondering, could it also be a sign of an imminent timing belt failure?

It might, but from my experience, the jerking during acceleration and stored error codes sounds more like a leak. I would advise you to visit a workshop so they can determine the real cause. Because I think it is not the timing belt, if it was, it would have a different sound.

Thanks, appreciate the advice! Ended up taking it to the workshop, and you were spot on - exhaust leak it was! Cost me 265€ to get fixed. Runs like a dream now! Hopefully that was the last time!

Oh, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my C2 a while back. Did you check timing belt? Because a damaged timing belt can also cause an uneven engine running.
