C4 Electric power steering fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Citroen C4 electric is experiencing power steering issues, characterized by a vibrating steering wheel, spongy handling, and increased steering effort, indicating potential power steering failure. Diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug as the cause. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a faulty connector causing a voltage drop to the electric steering pump. A thorough inspection by a qualified workshop is recommended to confirm and fix the problem.

Yes, the steering effort is considerably increased, almost as if the power steering is completely inactive at times. Did your issue also present intermittently?

Yes, it was intermittent initially, then became more consistent. In my case, it was indeed a faulty connector causing a voltage drop to the electric steering pump. I'd recommend a thorough inspection by a qualified workshop.

Thank you for sharing your experience; it's reassuring to hear a similar issue has been resolved. I will take your advice and schedule an appointment with a workshop for a detailed inspection. The cable or plug connection was indeed defective. Repair cost 95€

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my 2018 Opel Insignia. The steering wheel vibration and the error memory issue are dead giveaways. Was the steering effort significantly increased?
