C4 transmission issue

I've got a problem with my 2007 Citroen C4, gasoline engine, with 216831 km. The transmission indicator and check engine light are both on. Seems like the gearbox is in emergency mode, shifting weird, slipping, and making grinding noises. I pulled the error codes, and it points to the radiator oil pressure being defective. I'm suspecting a bad cable connection. Has anyone had a similar issue?
