Chevrolet Beat Engine Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet Beat with a gasoline engine is experiencing a check engine light, rough running, stalling, an exhaust leak, and a fuel smell. Initial checks, such as inspecting the fuel cap and resetting the computer, did not resolve the issue. The problem was suspected to involve components like the catalytic converter or sensors. After professional diagnostics, the issue was identified as a faulty lambda sensor and a minor catalytic converter problem, which were repaired, resolving the car's issues.

I don't have the codes right now, but can I test the lambda sensor myself? Or is there anything else I could try?

DIY sensor tests can cause further issues without the right equipment. Given the exhaust leak and rough running, it's likely more than just a simple sensor. I'd suggest a workshop with diagnostic tools to pinpoint the problem. It's better to spend a bit on diagnostics than risk damaging other components.

I took it to a workshop, and you were right! It was the lambda sensor and a minor catalytic converter issue. The total repair was 375€, but the car is running smoothly again. Thanks for your help!

That sounds concerning. I had a similar experience with my 2017 Opel Corsa check engine light, rough running, and exhaust smell. Mine was a defective lambda sensor. Do you have any diagnostic codes you can share? That would provide more clarity.
