CHR Air Suspension Failure

Hey, my 2022 Toyota CHR with a gasoline engine is acting up. Mileage is at 168637 km. The air suspension seems to have failed. The car won't lift anymore, leans to one side, and I'm getting error codes, plus a warning light on the dash. Also, the low beams are misaligned. I suspect a bad connection somewhere. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Toyota CHR experienced air suspension failure, with symptoms including the car not lifting, leaning to one side, and error codes with a warning light. The issue was suspected to be a bad connection, possibly affecting the compressor or wiring. Suggested solutions included checking the compressor relay, fuse, and using soapy water to detect air leaks. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a defective plug connection to the compressor, which was resolved at a local shop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds like a classic air suspension fault. Have you checked the compressor relay and fuse? Also, inspect the air struts themselves for any obvious leaks. What error codes are you seeing specifically? That'll help narrow it down. Ride height sensors can also cause issues if they're faulty.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the relay or fuse yet, that's a good call. I'll do that tomorrow. As for the error codes, I'll have to pull them again. What's the best way to check for air leaks on the struts themselves? Soapy water?

Yeah, soapy water works fine for finding air leaks. Spray it on the air lines and struts, look for bubbles. But given all your symptoms, including the headlight issue, and the error codes you mentioned, it's probably the compressor or its wiring. A faulty connection affecting the entire system is more likely than multiple strut leaks. You could chase it yourself, but honestly, for a 2022 model, I'd take it to a shop with experience in air suspension systems.

Appreciate the advice. Turns out it was a defective plug connection to the compressor, just like I suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted at a local shop. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
