Citan Fuel Flap Release Problem

My 2021 Mercedes Citan diesel has a fuel flap release issue It started a few days ago I get an error and I can't open the fuel door with the release button or key fob Some other functions seem unavailable The van only has 6186 km Could this be a defective linkage or electric actuator

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Mercedes Citan diesel experienced a fuel flap release issue, where the fuel door wouldn't open using the release button or key fob, and some other functions were unavailable. The problem was suspected to be a defective linkage or electric actuator. After checking the fuses and failing to find a manual release, the vehicle was taken to a workshop. The issue was confirmed to be a defective fuel flap electric actuator, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

That's a weird one so early in the vehicle's life Does anything happen when you press the release button inside the car Can you hear any clicking sound coming from near the fuel door Have you checked the fuses There might be one specifically for the fuel flap electric actuator Have you tried using the manual release Some cars have a little emergency pull cord inside the trunk or somewhere near the fuel door It could at least get you some fuel in the tank Let me know what you find

Thanks for the quick reply I don't hear any clicking when I press the release button I haven't checked the fuses yet I'll look into that As for a manual release, I haven't been able to find one The manual isn't very helpful Where exactly should I be looking for that emergency pull cord

Yeah, the lack of clicking suggests it's not even trying Bummer about the manual release, I assumed all vehicles had them It's usually behind a panel inside the trunk, near the fuel door So, if you can't find a fuse diagram easily and there's no manual release, I'd seriously consider a workshop visit An electric actuator issue or a broken wire could explain the error and the inoperative flap Could be a cheap fix or a bit more involved with the other functions being affected Good luck with it

Thanks for the advice I checked the fuses they seem fine I couldn't locate a manual release either I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective fuel flap electric actuator Total repair cost was 210€ Everything is working as expected again
