Hi, I have a 2009 Citroen C8 diesel with 113861 km on the clock. Lately, the engine's been running rich. I'm getting reduced power, the check engine light is on, the engine runs rough, fuel consumption is up, and it jerks when I accelerate. Could this be a defective injector?

Sounds like you're getting too much fuel, not enough air, or both. I had similar symptoms on my old Volvo – turned out to be a dodgy mass airflow sensor messing with the air-fuel ratio. Have you checked your air filter? When was the catalytic converter replaced?

Thanks for the reply! The air filter is new, and the catalytic converter seems fine. Could a faulty injector really cause all these problems, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

A faulty injector can definitely cause those issues. Think of it like a leaky tap constantly dripping fuel into the engine. It's possible to DIY test the injectors. However, given all your symptoms, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop with the proper tools.
