Corvette cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Chevrolet Corvette experienced cruise control failure at 225,247 km, with diagnostic codes indicating a problem. Initial checks of the brake light switch and steering wheel were inconclusive. Suggestions included examining the throttle position sensor (TPS) and its wiring, as well as considering a faulty speed sensor. The issue was resolved by cleaning and re-seating a corroded connector on the TPS, restoring cruise control functionality.

Good shout! Where exactly is the throttle position sensor located on the 'Vette, and is it hard to get to? Also, how much did the repair cost you approximately? This is driving me bonkers!

The TPS is on the throttle body itself; fairly accessible, though space is tight. As for cost, I would not be sure about this. A proper diagnosis with a scan tool is key. Given the symptoms, and your mileage, it might be best to have a workshop take a look at the cable or plug connection. It's a common enough issue. That will be much safer than randomly swapping parts.

Appreciate the wisdom! Dropped her off at the shop. It was a corroded connector on the TPS – they cleaned it up and re-seated it, code cleared, and cruise is back! 95€ all in. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar cruise control failure on my Corvette. Check the throttle position sensor and its associated wiring. Sometimes, a dodgy connection there can disable the whole cruise system. Also, a faulty speed sensor would cause the ECM to throw an error code and shut down the cruise control system.
