Crown Victoria Overheating

Hey, my 2009 Ford Crown Victoria with a gasoline engine is overheating. It also takes forever to warm up these days. Coolant level is fine, and the fan seems to be working. Any ideas? Mileage is at 139787 km.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Crown Vic a while back. Overheating and slow warm-up could point to a thermostat problem. Have you checked the temperature sensor?

Temp sensor seems okay, at least according to the dash. Is there any possibility to confirm the sensor is working properly without special equipment?

Well, the dash isn't always accurate. Seeing that you have the same symptoms I had, I'd put my money on the thermostat. The MAP thermostat is likely defective. Could be the sensor though! Best to get it checked out by a mechanic.

Thanks; looks like you were spot on. Shop confirmed a faulty thermostat. Repair cost about 350€. Appreciate the help!
