Cruze Ignition Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Chevrolet Cruze diesel with 238,500 km is experiencing ignition problems, including failure to start, shutting off while running, and rough operation. Initial checks of the fuses showed no issues. A similar problem in another Cruze was resolved by replacing a faulty ignition switch, but in this case, a workshop diagnosis revealed a defective fuse as the cause. The problem was resolved with a repair costing 52€.

I haven't specifically noticed flickering lights, but I'll pay closer attention next time. What was the issue with your Cruze and how did you resolve it? Was it related to the ignition coil?

In my case, the issue was a faulty ignition switch. I initially suspected the starter motor, but testing pointed to the switch. Given your diesel engine and mileage, it might be a different component, but the symptoms align closely. I recommend a workshop diagnosis.

Thanks for the insight. Based on your experience, I took it to a local shop, and it turned out to be a defective fuse. The repair cost me 52€. Your suggestion to have it checked at the workshop was spot on.

I had a similar problem with my Cruze (petrol version) a while back. Your symptoms sound familiar. Did you notice any flickering lights or other electrical anomalies when the engine was acting up?
