Dealing with ABS Warning and Speed Signal Issue in 2021 Dacia Lodgy

ABS warning light

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS/DSC system is not working

Fault stored

Hey! I'm a bit worried about my 2021 Dacia Lodgy, gasoline engine, with 131,846 KM on the clock. Last trip to the mechanic wasn't the greatest, so I'm reaching out in here hoping someone might've had a similar experience. My ABS warning light has popped on, ABS/DSC system seems to be acting up, got a warning light in the speedometer, even says there's a fault stored. It feels like it might be a Speed signal issue. Has anybody here had similar issues? How did you rectify it and what was your mechanic experience like? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! Totally understand your concern. Let me tell you about a problem I had with my 2018 Dacia Duster. Similar situation: I'd clocked nearly 140,000 KM, my ABS warning light kicked up, and just like your Lodgy, there was a fault message stored. Reckon it might have been a speed signal issue, same as yours. Took it to my local garage and we found out after testing that the problem was with the ABS control unit. Those guys had to replace the whole unit in the end. Most importantly, they emphasized that it's a significant issue! Disabling ABS or DSC isn't something safe on the road. Luckily, theyaged it professionally and the car felt normal thereafter. You might want to check this on your Lodgy and hope it doesn't turn out to be the same thing. Stay calm, and best of luck with your car.

Wow, thanks for sharing your experience! Guess these weird things just happen sometimes, eh? I'll definitely get that ABS control unit checked out now. Must have taken a hit on your wallet though, replacing the whole unit. Do you recall how much it approx cost? Also, any more problems on the road after that or has it been smooth sailing since the fix? Cheers for the advice and fingers crossed it's nothing major on my Lodgy!

Hey! No problem - we're all here to help each other out, right? About the wild hit in my wallet, yeah it was a bit of a sting. The total cost for fixing the ABS control unit turned out to be around €1000. A hefty cost indeed, but considering the importance of ABS, it was a no-brainer. Since the repair, it's been pretty smooth actually. In fact, theyaged to fix that Speed signal fault as well during the process. It's like they killed two birds with one stone! So, despite the initial hit, I must admit it's been worthwhile, as there's been no glitches or warning lights since then. Hopefully, your Lodgy's problem will be sorted out much more smoothly & ideally cost-effectively. Keep your fingers crossed and let's home for the best!

Thanks for the details! Appreciate your responsiveness. Ouch, €1000 is a significant amount, but I understand the logic - an operational ABS system is fundamental for safety. Good to hear that it solved the Speed signal issue too, and that your car's been running smoothly since then. You've given me some hope! I'll head on over to the mechanic to get mine looked at promptly. Will keep you updated about the outcome and costs involved. Fingers crossed it isn't the same problem and things go a bit light on my pocket. Thanks again for the advice! Cheers.
