Ecosport diesel engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Ford Ecosport diesel with 141,534 km is experiencing engine weakness, a check engine light, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion is a fuel injector problem, supported by error codes indicating excessive fuel. A similar case confirmed a defective fuel injector as the cause, suggesting a workshop inspection and potential injector replacement as a solution.

Error codes point towards too much fuel. What exactly was the issue on your Ecosport? Was it injectors?

Yes, eventually it turned out to be a defective fuel injector. Caused all sorts of problems. If the error codes point that way, better have a workshop check them. The repair was around 515€, but worth it.

Thanks for the info. Will take it to a mechanic. Sounds like my injectors are shot. Fingers crossed that's all it is.

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Ecosport. Rough running and the check engine light were the first signs. Have you checked for error codes? Could be a rich mixture problem. Faulty spark plugs or a leak in the intake manifold can also cause that.
