Emergency call system problems after battery change

Hello everyone, I replaced the battery in my BMW X3, but now the emergency call system is no longer working ('Emergency call system not working'). I've heard that the battery needs to be registered with the telematics system. Can someone explain how I can do this myself or if I need to take it to a workshop?
