Enjoy diesel starting issue

Hey, I'm having a really weird problem with my Chevrolet Enjoy diesel, built in 2011. It's got about 150404 km on it. Sometimes it just won't start, like the engine is completely dead. Other times, it starts fine but then randomly shuts off while I'm driving! And even when it does run, it feels really rough, like it's struggling. I checked the dashboard for any warning lights, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. Could this be the ignition key or maybe something with the ignition coil? I'm not really sure where to even begin troubleshooting this.

Summary of the thread

A Chevrolet Enjoy diesel, built in 2011, with 150,404 km, is experiencing intermittent starting issues, random engine shutdowns, and rough running. The problem was suspected to be related to the ignition key or ignition coil. However, a suggestion to check the fuses led to the discovery of a defective fuse related to the ignition system, which was subsequently repaired, resolving the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. It turned out to be a defective fuse related to the car electronics. Have you checked all your fuses? It's a cheap and easy thing to rule out before you start tearing into more complicated stuff.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't even think about the fuses. Where exactly would I find the fuse box, and is there a specific fuse I should be looking for related to the ignition or the engine start?

On my Corsa, the fuse box was under the dashboard on the driver's side. The diagram should be inside the fuse box cover. I'm not sure about your Enjoy but it's probably the same. Honestly, though, if you are not sure, it might be worth taking it to a workshop, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks a lot for your help! You were right; I took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a defective fuse related to the ignition system. The repair cost me around 52€, but at least it's fixed now!
