Enjoy Engine Power Loss

I'm having a weird issue with my 2011 Chevrolet Enjoy gasoline. It only has 20344 km on it. The check engine light is on, and I'm experiencing reduced engine power and poor engine response. I'm also hearing a whistling noise and a loud hissing when accelerating. Sometimes the engine even stalls at idle, and my fuel consumption is definitely higher. I suspect a boost pressure actuator fault. Could this be an electrical bypass valve defective?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Chevrolet Enjoy is experiencing reduced engine power, poor response, a whistling noise, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The suspected cause is a boost pressure actuator fault, potentially due to a defective electrical bypass valve. The solution involves professional diagnosis and repair, confirming the defective valve as the issue, which was resolved at a cost of 250€.

Hey! I own an Enjoy too, and those symptoms sound awfully familiar. I had something similar happen with mine. The whistling and hissing, plus the power loss, really points to the turbo system. Has anyone checked the turbo wastegate? It might be worth investigating that!

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the turbo wastegate yet, but I was thinking it could be related to the turbocharger system or actuator. Did you end up replacing the entire turbo system, or was it just a specific part, like the actuator itself? Any extra info you have is very welcome!

Okay, so it sounds like you know your way around an engine, which is a big plus. I didn't replace the whole turbo. It was an actuator fault for sure. I'd say it is almost certain that you have a defective electrical bypass valve. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it quickly. I'd get it checked out professionally before you start throwing money at parts.

Thanks so much for the insight and advice! You were spot on. Took it to the shop, and it was indeed a defective electrical bypass valve causing the boost pressure actuator fault. Repair cost me about 250€. All good now!
