Equinox alarm system fault
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Chevrolet Equinox is experiencing a siren communication fault and non-functional alarm, with diagnostics indicating a potential bad cable or plug. The security light staying on longer than usual suggests a wiring issue. A similar case was resolved by checking connections to the alarm module, where a corroded connector was found and fixed at a workshop. Taking the vehicle to a professional for inspection is recommended.

Thanks! Yeah, the security light is staying on longer than usual. Could you tell me which connections you checked on the alarm module?

Yep, security light issues confirm it. I went through the same thing. Honestly, after poking around and not finding anything obvious, I took it to a workshop. They found a corroded connector. Saved me a ton of headache. For me it was a 95€ fix. I'd suggest doing the same.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a workshop and have them check it out.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Equinox. Is the security light on the dash acting weird, maybe staying on longer than usual or flashing erratically? It could be a wiring issue like you suspect, but it's worth checking all the connections to the alarm module itself.
