Equinox Diesel Crankcase Ventilation Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet Equinox diesel is experiencing a check engine light, reduced power, and smoke during acceleration, potentially due to a crankcase ventilation or PCV valve issue. The symptoms include rough idling and a whistling noise, suggesting increased pressure in the crankcase. A similar case confirmed that a faulty crankcase ventilation system could cause these problems. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a qualified workshop.

Yes, the idle is rougher, and there's a slight whistling sound sometimes. I didn't check oil consumption but will. Are you quite sure about the crankcase ventilation? Did you have those exact symptoms?

My Equinox exhibited the same symptoms: rough idle, whistling noise, check engine light, and eventually reduced power. A defective crankcase ventilation sounds like the culprit. Take it to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and repair. The repair cost me around 360€.

I appreciate your help. Based on your experiences, I will bring the car to my local repair shop immediately. It's reassuring to know others have faced similar issues.

I had a similar issue with my Equinox. Any rough idling or unusual noises from the engine at a standstill? A faulty crankcase ventilation system can cause those symptoms, and the smoke suggests increased pressure. Is there any oil consumption?
