Equinox Electronic Parking Brake Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Chevrolet Equinox diesel experienced a complete failure of the electronic parking brake, with the handbrake not engaging, an error stored, and the warning light on. The suspected cause was the electric motor in the brake caliper. Another person with similar symptoms confirmed that the issue was likely the caliper motor, and the solution involved replacing the electric motor in the caliper.

Just the parking brake error code. Did you also have the warning light and the completely unresponsive handbrake like I do? Trying to narrow down if it's definitely the motor.

Yep, exactly the same symptoms. Light on, no handbrake function whatsoever. I'm no expert, but based on what you're saying, sounds like the caliper motor. I'd bite the bullet and get it checked out at a workshop.

Thanks for confirming! I appreciate the input. Turns out you were right - needed a new electric motor in the caliper. Cost me 505€ but at least it's fixed!

Dude, I had something similar happen on my Equinox. Electronic brake issues are a major drag. Was it throwing any other weird codes, or just the parking brake malfunction? Maybe it's just a brake sensor problem?
