Equinox passenger seat electrical issue
Summary of the thread
The passenger electric seat in a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox was not functioning, and an error was stored, leading to the suspicion of a fuse issue. However, the fuses appeared to be intact. A suggestion was made to check the battery, as a defective or heavily discharged battery can cause electrical issues, even if it seems unrelated to a single seat. Upon testing, the battery was found to be defective, and replacing it resolved the seat issue.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't thought about the battery. How could the battery affect only one seat though? Wouldn't it affect both?

Good point. It does seem odd that it's just one seat. However, modern cars are full of electronics, and low voltage can cause unexpected things to happen. In my case, the low battery triggered the seat error, even though the driver's seat was working fine. I'd still check it out. I would also recommend taking it to a workshop if the battery is fine. They can run a diagnostic and pinpoint the exact cause. Maybe the seat motor, the harness, or something else entirely.

You were spot on! I got the battery tested, and it was indeed defective. Replaced it and the seat is working perfectly now. The repair cost 290€. Thanks for your help!

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series. The symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked the battery? A heavily discharged or defective battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins, including problems with the car seats. It might be worth getting it tested before you start tearing into the seat motor or harness.
