Estima oil temp warning light
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Toyota Estima owner experienced issues with the oil temperature warning light and intermittent oil pressure light, suspecting a faulty oil temperature sensor or related wiring. Another Estima owner suggested checking the wiring connections before replacing parts. Upon inspection at a workshop, a corroded plug was identified and cleaned, resolving the issue without needing a new sensor.

I'm not sure about the exact error code. I only had the generic error readout and didn't check the code. Is there any easy way to find out?

Could be the sensor itself. But, given the intermittent oil pressure light, a bad connection sounds more likely. I'd get it to a workshop to check the wiring before swapping parts. It saved me money last time.

You nailed it. The shop found the plug corroded. They cleaned it up, and it's good as new. It cost 95€, but that's better than a new sensor.

Sounds familiar. I've got an Estima, and I had similar issues a while back. Was the sensor itself throwing the code, or were just the readings off?
