Evanda Electric Steering Column Problem
Summary of the thread
The electric steering column adjustment on a 2002 Chevrolet Evanda was not functioning, with an error stored in the memory. The initial suspicion was a bad cable or plug. After checking the fuses and finding no issues, it was suggested that the problem might be a loose or corroded connector, possibly requiring professional diagnosis. Ultimately, the issue was confirmed to be a bad cable connection, which was resolved at a repair shop.

Thanks, I did check the fuses, and they look fine. No noises when I try to adjust the column. Anything else I should check before I take it in?

Since the fuses are good and there's no noise, it probably is deeper in the electrical system. It could still be a loose or corroded connector, but tracing that without the right tools is tough and could make things worse. With that error code, a workshop might be best. They can diagnose it properly and find the cause. Could be a simple fix, but hard to say without the equipment. Maybe a faulty motor or control unit.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a shop like you suggested. It was a bad cable connection, just like I thought. Cost me 95€ to fix. Thanks for the help!

I haven't seen that exact issue on an Evanda, but those symptoms definitely sound like an electrical problem. Did you check the fuses before assuming it's a cable or plug? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause similar things. Any weird noises when you try to adjust it?
