Evanda Oil Level Sensor Error

Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2004 Chevrolet Evanda (gasoline engine). I'm getting an error message and a warning light in the speedometer related to the oil level. The oil pressure warning lamp lights up, and the error memory also stores the error. I suspect it's the oil level sensor or its signal. I've checked the wiring diagrams and suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Summary of the thread

The conversation revolves around an oil level sensor error in a 2004 Chevrolet Evanda. The initial problem involves an error message and warning light related to the oil level, suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a faulty connection at the oil level sensor's connector, which was cleaned and eventually replaced. The suggested solution is to inspect and clean the sensor connector, and if the issue persists, seek professional diagnosis and repair.

Hey! I had a similar issue with my Evanda. Does the warning appear randomly, or is it constant? In my case, it turned out to be a faulty connection. The oil level sensor sends a signal to the car's computer (ECU), and if the connection is bad, the ECU throws an error because it's not getting a consistent reading. Check your sensor connector before doing anything else!

Thanks for the quick response! You mentioned a 'faulty connection.' Could you be more specific about where the issue was located? Was it the connector at the sensor itself, or somewhere else along the wiring harness? Any details you can provide would be a great help!

Sure thing! For me, it was the connector right at the oil level sensor itself. It looked fine at first glance, but when I wiggled it, the error would come and go. I cleaned it with some electrical contact cleaner, but eventually, I had to have the workshop replace the connector. Cost me about 95€. Honestly, save yourself the headache and just take it to a shop; they'll diagnose it properly.

Thanks so much for the detailed info! Sounds like I should focus on the connector at the sensor first. I'll check it out and clean it. If that doesn't work, I'll take your advice and bring it to a workshop. Really appreciate your help!
