Evanda Sunroof Initialization Error

My 2006 Chevrolet Evanda with a gasoline engine has a 'sunroof not initialized' error after 217,536 kilometers. The sunblind is stuck, the convertible top won't open or close, and the sunblind won't retract. I suspect coding is the cause. Anyone else experienced this?

Summary of the thread

The 2006 Chevrolet Evanda experienced a 'sunroof not initialized' error, causing the sunblind and convertible top to malfunction. The issue arose after recent coding modifications using an OBD reader, suggesting that the coding may have disrupted the sunroof system. A similar problem was resolved by taking the vehicle to a workshop for recalibration of the sunroof system, which cost around 75€. This solution successfully resolved the error and restored functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Evanda. The error message was slightly different, but the sunblind going rogue and the top refusing to budge? Yep, been there. Did you recently mess around with any of the car's settings, like, through an OBD reader or anything?

Indeed, I did perform some coding modifications recently using an OBD reader. If you experienced something similar, were you able to resolve the issue, and if so, how? I'm particularly interested in understanding the steps you took to rectify the problem and whether any specialized tools or software were required.

Okay, that pretty much confirms it. The coding probably scrambled the sunroof's brain. I couldn't fix it myself, I'm not that techy. Took it to a workshop and they recalibrated the whole sunroof system. Cost me around 75€, but at least it works now. Honestly, unless you're super confident with car electronics, I'd suggest biting the bullet and doing the same.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Based on your recommendation, I took the vehicle to a local workshop, where they performed a recalibration of the sunroof system, as you suggested. The repair cost was indeed around 75€, and the issue has now been resolved. I appreciate your guidance; it saved me a considerable amount of time and potential frustration.
