Hey, yes, that was definitely not an easy job with the EGR valve! As for the repair cost, I think it was around €355. It did cost a bit, but since the visit to the mechanic my car has been running perfectly and the previous malfunction in the EGR valve is a thing of the past. Fortunately, there have been no further problems since then. So it's fair to say that all the effort was worth it in the end. Greetings.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my '10 Benz C-Class. It had similar symptoms, especially that rough idle and weird exhaust smell. It turned out that the EGR valve was really the problem. At the garage, they had to clean the valve first, but that didn't improve the condition, so they ended up having to replace it.
