Alarm system malfunctions

Hey there, thanks for chiming in! So it looks like a potential battery issue then, phew. Was expecting something a lot worse given my past experiences. If you don't mind me asking, do you remember how much you forked out for that battery replacement? Also, did anything else come up afterwards or has it been smooth sailing since then? Cheers!
Hey, glad to help a fellow Fiat owner out! If I recall correctly, the battery replacement set me back about 330 Euro. Not the cheapest repair, I know, but considering the relief of not having an unpredictable anti-theft system, it was money well spent. And yep, as funny as it might sound, I reckon that old battery was the root of all problems! After the mechanic gave my car the once over and changed the faulty battery, it's been a dream. No more annoying alarm issues since then. It seems it's indeed the additional battery in the anti-theft alarm system that was at fault, as you suspected. Just goes to show, you should always trust your gut! A little problem is no sweat compared to permanent mechanical damage and the mechanic's diagnosis last time was spot-on. So, ever since that, it's been nothing but smooth rides and peace of mind. Keep me posted about your issue. Cheers!
Thanks a bunch! Your reply has put my mind at ease somewhat. 330 Euro sounds reasonable, considering the peace it would bring. Your experience with your mechanic sounds a lot better than my last run-in with mine, so fingers crossed it goes just as smoothly for me. I'll definitely get this taken care of and hopefully, I won't have to deal with a misbehaving alarm anymore! I'll keep you updated on how it all turns out. Thanks again, appreciate the help! See you around! Cheers!
Hey, same thing happened with my 2011 Fiat Bravo a while back. I reckon it sounds like the same issue - your battery might be on its last legs due to age. Don't worry, it's not anything serious, just a pain to deal with. Had something similar before with the anti-theft system going haywire driving me nuts too. Thought it was just some wiring going rogue but turns out, it was the battery not holding up any longer. So, popped into the garage, they took a look and their diagnostics confirmed the same - it was the battery showing its age. All that was needed was a simple battery replacement job. don't lose sleep over it, it's a standard issue when the car gets on in age. Good luck!
