Functionality fuel filter heater
The function of the fuel filter heater is to preheat the fuel filter (mostly on diesel vehicles) at low temperatures. At very low temperatures, it can happen that the diesel fuel "sults". This means that it becomes more viscous and thus can no longer pass through the fuel filter.
The fuel filter heater is usually located just in front of the fuel filter and is connected to it. At most service stations in Germany, so-called winter diesel is offered in winter. This is an additional measure to prevent the fuel filter from "going sour".
