Fuga Oil Contamination Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Nissan Fuga owner reported engine oil contamination, indicated by a warning light and intermittent oil pressure warning. The suspected cause was an exceeded maintenance interval leading to oil sludge. The solution involved checking the oil color, which confirmed contamination, followed by changing the oil and filter and performing an engine flush. This resolved the issue, stabilizing oil pressure and eliminating warning lights.

Interesting analogy. I will check the oil color first thing in the morning. If it resembles 'black coffee,' what steps did you take to rectify the situation? Did you try flushing the engine, or was a more invasive approach necessary?

In my case, the oil's appearance sealed the deal - it was off to the workshop. I would recommend the same. It's better to catch any potential engine damage early. The cost to replace the contaminated oil, oil filter and perform an engine flush was around 165€.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions and sharing your experience. Indeed, the oil resembled black coffee. I followed your advice and had the oil and filter changed, along with an engine flush. The oil pressure is now stable, and the warning lights are gone. Appreciate the insights!

I drive a Fuga too and had similar oil pressure issues a while back. What color is the oil on your dipstick? If it looks like black coffee instead of a honey color, you might have serious oil sludge.
