G Klasse passenger electric seat fault
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Mercedes G Klasse had a fault with the passenger electric seat, preventing adjustment and storing an error. Possible causes included a discharged battery, damaged wiring harness, or issues with the seat motor or switch. Solutions involved checking the battery voltage, inspecting the wiring harness and connectors, and verifying the seat module fuse. Ultimately, replacing the low battery resolved the issue, clearing the error and restoring seat functionality.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the battery voltage yet. Where is the seat wiring harness located, and is it easily accessible? I tried the seat switch, but there was no response. Is there a specific fuse I should check?

The seat wiring harness is usually under the seat, running along the floor. Slide the seat forward or backward to get a better view. Look for wires going into a connector. Check your owner's manual for the seat module fuse location, maybe labeled 'car seats' or 'electric seat'. If the battery and fuse are fine, it may be the seat motor. Given the error code, it could be a deeper electrical problem. Get a workshop to diagnose it with STAR diagnostics. They can pinpoint the fault and prevent you from wasting money.

Thank you. The battery voltage was low. After replacing it, the electric seat works. The error was cleared, and the repair cost at the workshop was 290€ . I appreciate the advice.

I had a similar problem with my G Klasse. The electric car seats are known for this. First, check the battery. A discharged battery can cause electrical issues. Have you checked the battery's voltage? Also, inspect the seat wiring harness under the seat for damage or loose connectors. Sometimes, the seat motor draws too much current if something is binding, triggering an error. What about the seat switch?
