Galaxy keyless entry and starting issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Ford Galaxy Hybrid is experiencing issues with keyless entry and starting, requiring the key to be physically in the ignition. A possible cause could be a faulty connection to the bumper antenna, which affects the keyless system. Checking the wiring and connectors around the antenna is suggested, but due to the complexity, consulting a professional mechanic is recommended for a proper diagnosis and repair.

Bumper antenna, huh? Where exactly is that located? And how would I even go about checking the wiring? I'm not exactly a car mechanic, so please explain simply!

On my Audi, it was behind the rear bumper cover. I suspect it's in the same area on the Galaxy. Honestly, unless you're comfortable removing the bumper cover and fiddling with wiring, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. From experience, it's a pain to get to, and you could make things worse. This might be a defective cable or plug connection. I paid 95€ for the fix on my old A4

Thanks so much for the info! 'Bumper antenna' gives me a place to start. I think you're right; best to leave this to the pros. I'll book it in with a mechanic and mention the antenna connection. Hopefully, it's a quick and cheap fix!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Audi A4. The symptoms were almost identical. It ended up being a faulty connection to the bumper antenna. Have you checked the wiring and connectors around the antenna itself?
