GLC hybrid massage seat issue

My 2021 Mercedes GLC hybrid is throwing a weird code The massage seat switch isnt working at all Everything else seems fine, but thats a feature I actually use Has anyone else run into this I'm guessing its an electrical issue since theres an error stored, probably a bad connection or something Ive heard it might be the seat motor cable or a defective plug connection Any thoughts before I start tearing into the car upholstery

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Mercedes GLC hybrid owner experienced an issue with the massage seat switch not working, suspecting an electrical problem due to an error code. Possible causes included a bad connection, seat motor cable, or defective plug connection. Suggestions included checking the fuse and inspecting wiring for chafing or pinching. Ultimately, a workshop identified and replaced a faulty connector, resolving the issue for a cost of 95€.

That's an interesting issue With modern automotive seats packing so much tech, electrical gremlins can be a real headache Have you checked the fuse box diagram to see if the massage function has its own dedicated fuse It's a simple thing, but you'd be surprised how often that's the culprit Also, does the error code give any more specific information beyond 'electrical issue' Knowing the exact code could point you towards the specific area of the seat motor or wiring harness to inspect Did the issue occur after any specific event, such as car upholstery cleaning or any other intervention

Good call on the fuse, I'll check that first thing The error code is pretty generic unfortunately, just says something like 'Massage function malfunction' And no, I haven't done any work on the seats recently I am wondering: Is there a common spot for these harnesses to chafe or get pinched

While there isn't a single, universally 'common' spot for wiring issues in these vehicles, chafing is always a possibility given the movement and adjustments of powered automotive seats Given the diagnostic information and the nature of the issue, and considering the estimated repair cost of 95€ it points towards the cable or plug connection of the component being defective, it might be best to take it to a trusted workshop This way, a technician can thoroughly inspect the seat motor, its wiring, and the associated control module for any obvious damage or shorts
