Groove Radio Reception Issue

I'm having radio reception issues with my 2022 Chevrolet Groove with a gasoline engine. The infotainment system intermittently displays an error, and sometimes the audio stops. Diagnostic scans show an antenna error. Could a defective antenna cause this, or are there other possibilities? The car has about 44507 km.

Summary of the thread

The 2022 Chevrolet Groove experienced intermittent radio reception issues, with diagnostic scans indicating an antenna error. The problem persisted across various locations, and no aftermarket accessories were interfering. After confirming secure antenna connections, the likely cause was identified as a defective antenna. A workshop inspection confirmed this, and replacing the antenna resolved the issue.

Whoa, that sounds frustrating! A defective antenna is a strong possibility, especially with the error code. But check the basics first. Is the antenna cable properly connected to the head unit? Sometimes those things wiggle loose. Does the poor signal happen everywhere, or just in certain locations? Could be interference. Do you have an aftermarket dashcam installed? I've seen those mess with radio signals!

I checked the antenna cable connection, and it's secure. The issue happens in different locations. Also, I don't have any aftermarket accessories like a dashcam. With these details, is a defective antenna still the most likely cause, or should I look at other things?

Alright, since you've checked the connections, the problem is in different locations, and no aftermarket stuff is interfering, yeah, a faulty antenna is looking like the prime suspect. It could be the antenna itself, or even the signal amplifier if your Groove has one. Honestly, take it to a workshop. They can properly test the antenna and the wiring. Plus, they have the right tools to diagnose it correctly. Don't chase ghosts and waste money on parts you don't need!

I had the car inspected at a workshop. The diagnostic assessment confirmed the antenna was defective, as suspected. Replacing it cost 255€. The radio reception issue is resolved. Thanks!
