Groove transmission oil temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
The 2023 Chevrolet Groove experienced issues with the transmission oil temperature sensor, leading to a malfunction indicator light and transmission warning light. The vehicle exhibited symptoms such as emergency mode activation, slipping, unclean shifting, and grinding noises. The problem was attributed to a low gearbox oil level, which caused the sensor to malfunction. The solution involved replacing the faulty sensor and topping off the gearbox oil, resolving the issues and restoring normal operation.

Good question! I did notice some slight overheating issues a few weeks before this all started. Nothing major, but the temperature gauge was running a bit higher than usual. Did you replace the transmission sensor in the end, or was it something else?

Yep, sounds like the sensor. The overheating likely cooked it. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop ASAP, especially with those shifting issues. Could save you from bigger problems down the line.

Thanks for the insight! I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. Turns out the gearbox oil level was indeed too low, causing the sensor to read incorrectly. They replaced the faulty transmission oil temperature sensor and topped off the oil. Cost me around 365€. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar. I had almost the same symptoms with my Groove a while back. Did you notice any overheating problems before the sensor went haywire?
