Hey there! I had very similar issues with my 2013 Honda CR-V diesel. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, power loss, rough running, and jerking during acceleration. The diagnosis at the garage revealed it was indeed the wastegate valve linkage that needed adjustment. Got it fixed last month. The mechanic showed me that the linkage had become loose over time, affecting the turbo's boost control. It wasn't a major repair, but leaving it unfixed could've led to more serious turbo damage. The whole job took about 2 hours. If your symptoms are identical, I'd recommend getting the wastegate checked first before replacing any parts. Mine's been running smoothly since the fix, no more jerking or power issues. The check engine light also cleared up after the adjustment. Just make sure your mechanic has experience with diesel turbos. Hope this helps!
Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful as it sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. Mine's been doing much better after getting it fixed too. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the wastegate repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other issues pop up?

Hey again! Glad to hear you got it fixed too! Yes, I remember exactly what I paid, it was 240 Euro for the wastegate valve linkage adjustment. Pretty reasonable considering how much better the car runs now. And I've got great news, since getting it fixed, my CR-V has been running absolutely perfect! The Functional limitation of the boost pressure control that was causing all those headaches is completely gone. No more jerking, no power loss, and the engine's running smooth as silk. It's honestly like having a different car. I've put about 5,000 km on it since the repair, and I haven't had a single issue pop up. The turbo response is spot on now, and I'm getting much better fuel economy too. Best money I've spent on the car, to be honest! Just make sure to keep an ear out for any unusual sounds from the turbo area, that's what I do now after learning my lesson. But honestly, once the wastegate linkage is properly adjusted, it seems to stay that way. Let me know if you notice the same improvements I did!

Thanks so much for all that detail! Yeah, my experience has been really similar. I finally bit the bullet and took it to a mechanic last week. The total came to about 280 Euro, which wasn't as bad as I feared. They adjusted the wastegate and cleaned up some connections while they were at it. I'm honestly relieved it wasn't something more serious. The car's running like a dream now, no more jerking or power loss issues. Already put about 1,000 km on it since the fix, and it's like driving a completely different car. The fuel economy has definitely improved too, which is a nice bonus! Really appreciate you sharing your experience earlier, it gave me the confidence to get it sorted before it turned into a bigger problem. Funny how we both had almost identical issues and solutions. Good to know these Hondas can keep going strong with the right maintenance! Thanks again for all your help! I'll definitely keep an eye (and ear) out for any unusual sounds, but so far, everything's perfect.
