Kalos Oil Pressure Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Chevrolet Kalos displayed an oil pressure warning light despite normal oil levels, raising concerns about potential oil contamination. The issue was suspected to be due to exceeding the maintenance interval, leading to possible sludge buildup. A professional inspection confirmed the oil was heavily contaminated, and after an oil change and engine flush, the warning lights were resolved. Regular maintenance adherence was emphasized to prevent future issues.

Thanks! I'll check the oil more carefully tomorrow. Can you tell me more about the sludge buildup in your Peugeot? Was it also from exceeding the maintenance interval, or was there another cause?

Yeah, the garage said it was likely from skipping an oil change or two. The old oil turns into gunk. I'd get it checked out by a professional ASAP. Engine damage isn't cheap!

Thanks so much! I took it to a workshop today. You were right; the oil was heavily contaminated because I went over the maintenance interval. They did an oil change and flushed the engine, which cost 165€. The warning lights are now off. I appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot. Same symptoms, oil light flashing. Turned out to be sludge buildup in the engine. Is your oil looking extra dark or thick?
