Kalos Temperature Reading Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Chevrolet Kalos was experiencing incorrect temperature readings, a check engine light, and prolonged engine warm-up times. The issue was suspected to be related to a restricted radiator grille or electrical problems with the temperature sensors. After further investigation, it was found that a blown thermal management system fuse was the cause. Replacing the fuse resolved the problem.

I haven't checked the electrical parts or sensors. I'm not sure if my Kalos has a fuse for the thermal management system. Where would that fuse be, and how would a bad fuse cause these symptoms?

You'd need the wiring diagram to find the fuse. If it's blown, the cooling fan might not work right, causing overheating under load. It could also affect warm-up time if the system manages cooling during warm-up. I still suggest a diagnostic check at a workshop.

I took it to a workshop, and the thermal management system fuse was bad. Replacing it for 52€ fixed the problem. Thanks!

A restricted radiator grille could cause those symptoms, but I doubt it's the only reason, especially with error codes. Is there an electrical issue with the temperature sensors? Have you checked the thermostat, coolant temperature sensor, or the thermal management system fuse (if it has one)? What diagnostic codes are you getting?
